ABOUT

Mission

Our mission is to coltivate a profound bond between our guests and the wonders of the natural world by prioritizing conservation, sustainability, and community support. We are dedicated to preserving the rich biodiversity of the Osa Peninsola, creating immersive experiences that reveal the beauty and significance of the land, and promoting responsible stewardship of the environment. Through eco-friendly lodging, sustainable farming, and guided wildlife encounters, we aim to inspire each visitor to cherish and protect the planet, fostering a lasting impact for future generations.

Vision

Our vision is to be a beacon of sustainable living and ecological preservation, where nature and people coexist harmoniously. Ecos del Bosque strives to set a standard for environmental protection and self-sufficiency, creating a zero-waste sanctuary that enriches both the land and those who visit. By leading in biodiversity conservation, sustainable farming, and educational outreach, we envision a future where our lodge and wildlife reserve inspire global change and nurture a deep respect for Earth’s ecosystems.

Ecos del Bosque is a wildlife reserve, a sustainable finca development farm, and an lodge, all working in harmony to protect the environment.

Founded by passionate Costa Rican naturalists, we aim to lead in flora and fauna protection, ecological awareness, and the organic development of a sustainable business. We are committed to generating zero waste in the South Pacific.

To achieve our goals, we operate in three distinct ways:

  1. The Lodge - An eco-friendly retreat that offers comfort while minimizing environmental impact.
  2. The Wildlife Reserve - A protected area where visitors can explore pristine ecosystems.
  3. The Finca Project - A sustainable farming initiative focused on zero waste and responsible agricolture.

The Finca Project

At Ecos del Bosque, we believe that it's possible to live off the earth without harming it. Our goal is to produce all our food on-site. We don’t buy from supermarkets, and we avoid using pesticides on our crops. Instead, we partner with local farmers when we need something we can’t grow ourselves, ensuring that our food is always fresh and sustainable.

All organic waste is repurposed into compost and fertilizers for our crops, as well as food for our hens and chickens. It’s a cycle of life, sustainability, and zero waste!

Key Principle: Everything we do to nature, we do to ourselves. The earth’s wellbeing directly influences our own quality of life.

About the Lodge

Our lodge offers eco-friendly accommodations with only certified sustainable products. From biodegradable soaps to water-saving appliances, every detail is designed to minimize our environmental footprint.

We also encourage our guests to reduce electricity and water consumption. We provide guidelines and tips for eco-friendly practices during your stay.

The Natural Reserve

We take great care to protect the flora and fauna of our reserve. All guests are provided with a brochure detailing our guidelines to ensure everyone respects the environment during their visit.

We offer nature tours that have minimal impact on the environment, with small local entrepreneurs leading the way. These tours provide an opportunity to connect with the region’s natural beauty while supporting local communities.

Come, experience the beauty of Ecos del Bosque, and be part of our mission to protect and preserve this incredible natural treasure.

We’re not just a place to stay—we’re a movement. Join us in making a lasting impact on the environment and the world around us!
