Founded in 2023 by brothers Sebastián and Francisco Mora, Ecos del Bosque honors the legacy of their father, Henry Mora—a pioneer of tourism in the region—who dreamed of establishing a wildlife reserve.

The story began in the 2000s when this remote area, lacking electricity and water, still captivated visitors with its lush green mountains and the stunning El Pavón Waterfall. Despite the absence of tourism infrastructure, our father proudly guided visitors, sharing his deep knowledge of the local flora and fauna. A lifelong learner and steward of nature, he took seriously his role in protecting these mountains and educating others.

Although he did not live to see his dream realized, his ideals inspired us to continue his vision. In September 2023, after years of planning, we officially launched Ecos del Bosque, encompassing the finca project, wildlife reserve, and eco-lodge.

We began by enhancing the finca’s existing trails with clear signage and markers. At the same time, we initiated agricultural projects, planting fruit trees and grains to establish a sustainable permaculture system. Construction started on our first small cabin and a distinctive dome-shaped structure to accommodate guests.

Recognizing the immense biodiversity of the region, we dedicated ourselves to documenting its flora and fauna—a project that took months and revealed how much we still had to learn about our own property. The vibrant birds, colorful insects, majestic trogons, and elusive pumas continually amazed us. We knew we had to share these natural treasures with the world.

In January 2025, after much hard work, we opened the reserve to guests. Since then, we have been tirelessly improving our services and enriching the guest experience, ensuring every visitor leaves with a deeper appreciation for this extraordinary place.

This project is a tribute to the vision and life of Henry Mora—a testament to his love for nature and dedication to preserving its beauty for future generations.
